AstouND Career Program - Winter Session

The AstouND Program is a career advancement program for Arts & Letters Seniors, initiated and co-designed by Notre Dame Arts & Letters 2020 graduate, Jebraune Chambers. This selective program provides tools and consultation for A&L Seniors to move forward in their career. Sessions include peer and career counselor collaborative support and direct engagement in developing application materials, finding and evaluating opportunities to apply, developing a personal networking strategy and goal setting. Selected applicants will also be given priority one-on-one appointment time with a career counselor and detailed pro-tips to enter their desired industry prepared and confident. The Astound Program requires commitment from every student once selected in order to guarantee results from this 4-week (1 session per week) virtual program. The sessions will focus on the following:

Skills Assessment and Analysis - Program will give participants the tools, support and guidance to construct this foundational aspect of a successful job search.

Networking - Students will be connected to alumni and professionals in their fields of interest. Students will learn how to build their network and maintain relationships to find opportunities within their industry.

Cover Letter and Resumes - The Astound Program is tailored to help students tailor resumes and cover letters to their desired jobs and industries. Participants will receive detailed assistance in writing their resumes and cover letters to communicate interest, market skill-sets, and astound the recruiter. 

Job Applications - Students get the advantage of working in small groups and, if desired, one-on-one with career counselors to plan and execute actions to complete applications.

Complete and submit the following two application steps by Monday, November 30, 2020 before 11:59 pm ET.

The following is required of all applicants selected for the Astound Program.
  • Attendance is mandatory. If you are unable to make a session do not apply. 
  • The virtual session dates are on Wednesdays Dec 9, Dec 16, Jan 13, Jan 20 from 3:30 p.m.- 5:00 p.m. ET
  • Active participation during each virtual session.

Selected participants agree to follow the guidelines set in the Center for Career Development’s Ethical Job Search Policy to not retract from the program once they have confirmed acceptance into the program. Students will conduct themselves in an ethical manner reflecting the policies and expectations put forth by the University of Notre Dame in its student handbook, DuLac.

  • Senior
